Buns

All buns are served with a side of Napa cabbage slaw tossed in house made Sake-Ginger dressing

All buns are available four ways:

Bunned: served in the original wheat and rice flour steamed buns

Wedded: served on a bed of Jasmine Thai steamed rice

Threaded: served on a bed of rice vermicelli

Shredded: served on a bed of Napa cabbage slaw tossed in house made Sake-Ginger dressing

  1. Ota Tofu: Locally made Ota Tofu coated in rice flour and togarashi spice and fried crisp. Topped with namasu, edamame, cilantro, sweet soy sauce and Szechuan Mayonnaise

  2. Chicken Cordon Bao: breaded and fried chicken breast strip, seared pork belly and cheddar cheese, topped with Chinese hot mustard and scallions

  3. Sweet and Spicy Orange Chicken: Wok seared-hand trimmed chicken thighs, bell peppers and onions simmered in sweet Thai chili sauce and topped with Korean Fire sauce, fried shallots and cilantro

  4. Szechuan Chicken: Wok seared-hand trimmed chicken thighs, local mushrooms and Napa cabbage simmered in Szechuan sauce and topped with scallion and crushed peanuts

  5. Chicken Philly Cheesesteak: Wok seared-hand trimmed chicken thighs, local mushrooms, bell peppers and onions topped with cheddar cheese, Szechuan mayonnaise and Thai basil

  6. Pork Belly: oven roasted pork belly sautéed with local mushrooms and Napa cabbage, glazed with sweet soy sauce and topped with Szechuan mayonnaise, scallions and crushed peanuts

  7. BBQ Pork Rodeo: oven roasted pork belly sautéed with local mushrooms and onions then simmered in Plum Tonkatsu and topped with cheddar cheese, Szechuan mayonnaise, fried shallots and Thai Basil

  8. Spicy Shrimp: michiu poached shrimp simmered in Szechuan sauce and topped with Daikon radish, edamame, cilantro, Szechuan mayonnaise and sweet soy sauce

  9. Braised Beef Tonkatsu: St. Helen’s Ranch prime Angus beef, braised then simmered in plum tonkatsu sauce and topped with pickled onions, cilantro, Szechuan mayonnaise and crushed peanuts

  10. Szechuan Cow: St. Helen’s Ranch prime Angus beef, braised then simmered in Szechuan sauce and topped with namasu, fried shallots and cilantro

  11. Chocolate Chip Cherry Cheesecake: cream cheese whipped with chocolate chips and cherry pie topped with crushed graham crackers. Served chilled in a steamy hot Bao

  1. Edamame: 1lbs. Edamame pods steamed and dusted with Himalayan pink salt

  2. Fried Tofu Nugz: half a pound of Ota Tofu chunks coated in rice flour and Togarashi and fried crisp and served with choice of sauce (2 oz. Cup)

  3. Jasmine Thai rice: steamed Thai Jasmine rice, we only serve Sun Lee new crop rice

  4. Napa Cabbage Slaw: hand chopped Napa cabbage, scallion, cilantro, salt and pepper tossed in house made Sake-Ginger dressing.

  5. Crispy Spring Rolls: fried vegetable spring rolls filled with napa cabbage, onion and carrots fried till golden and served with choice of sauce

  6. Chicken Breast Strips: premium breaded chicken breast strips fried till golden and served with choice of sauce

  1. Vermicelli Noodle Plate: chilled Vermicelli served with choice of protein, Napa cabbage slaw, namasu, bean sprouts, scallions, cilantro, cucumber, crushed peanuts and 2 vegetable spring rolls served with sweet fish sauce vinaigrette

  2. Chicken & Rice: fried chicken breast strips served atop a bed of Thai Jasmine rice and garnished with sweet Thai chili sauce, scallion, cilantro and crushed peanuts

  3. Vietnamese Cold Noodle Salad: vermicelli, bean sprouts, cucumber, cilantro, scallion and Thai basil tossed in house made Shallot-Lime vinaigrette and garnished with chopped peanuts and sweet soy sauce

Protein Choices

  1. Ota Tofu-Raw: locally made Ota Tofu served as it comes

  2. Ota Tofu - Fried: locally made Ota tofu coated in rice flour and togarashi and fried till golden and crisp

  3. Chicken Thighs: hand trimmed, never frozen chciken thighs seasoned with togarashi, wok seared and shredded

  4. Chicken Breast Strips: premium breaded chicken breast strips fried till golden

  5. Shrimp: large shrimp gently poached in michiu

  6. Pork Belly: Japanese cut lean pork bellies seasoned with Asian chilis and spices, oven roasted then wok seared till crisp

  7. Braised Beef: St. Helen’s Ranch premium Angus beef trimmed till lean, slow braised with aromatics till exceptionally tender

Sauces

  1. Plum Tonkatsu: Japanese style “BBQ” sauce blended with sweet plum sauce

  2. Sweet Thai Chili: sweet and rich with just a hint of heat from Thai chilis

  3. Shallot-Lime Vinaigrette: shallots, lime and ginger are the base of this amazing house made vinaigrette

  4. Sake-Ginger Vinaigrette: our signature sauce, sake, rice vinegar, ginger and a host of other ingredients create this savory customer favorite

  5. Szechuan Mayonnaise: slightly spicy and tangy mayonnaise, we put this on everything

  6. Szechuan: warm, earthy and spicy, Szechuan and black peppercorns give this sauce heat, but not too much

  7. Korean Fire: this sauce has Fire, but won’t wreck your palate, many flavor elements are merged to create this Breaking Buns Original
